Product Description

Leather Care Liniment No. 1 Leather Conditioner

Leather Care Liniment is a milky, water-based leather conditioner containing some remarkable leather enriching ingredients.  This leather care recipe contains natural oils that can be described as ‘lighter’ rather than ‘heavier’ oil types; and, because the product is water-based, it can also work as a mild leather cleaner.  In practical terms what this means is that for leather items that benefit from being ‘refreshed’ frequently with a leather conditioner, without having to worry about overloading your leather with heavy oils and conditioners…Leather Care Liniment leather conditioner is the perfect solution!  For instance, leather coats, leather bags, leather auto interiors, and leather furniture…these are the kinds of things that are exposed to public scrutiny and human touch on a regular basis.  You can use Leather Care Liniment leather conditioner often, for a quick, effective, cleaning and revitalizing result.

Just as milk is a primary nutrient for so much of animal and human life, so Chamberlain’s Leather Milk is for all things leather.  Those who buy our leather care products tend to be people who own quality leather items (leather furniture, luxurious auto leather interiors, leather briefcases, leather purses, and leather luggage); and, they tend to be people who know how to take good care of their stuff.  This is how it is with quality leather goods: the leather needs to be cared for in a particular way and in a regular fashion for it to look its best and last for years to come.  Chamberlain’s Leather Milk was created for just this purpose!  Made from natural, leather-nutrient-rich ingredients; concocted from natural oils and conditioners, plus a few highly classified mystical properties…Chamberlain’s Leather Milk’s leather conditioners, leather cleaners and leather protectors will feed, strengthen, and beautify your leather goods. Try it on your leather coat and matching leather gloves, or your motorcycle leather…we even have something for your leather boots!  Start Milking your leather today!

This conditioner is simply astounding! I used it on an old, old bag and it softened the leather and renewed the color. I used it on my briefcase and scratches and marks disappeared! I even used it on a leather duster I have, and not only did it restore the leather, it also smells nice! Some leather products are chemically based and it shows in the nose! Not Leather Milk! Now, if it would only work on my face, to remove wrinkles, soften the skin, get rid of them nasty old age spots…alas, I guess only my leather goods will benefit. Buy some, use it, enjoy it, your leather will thank you for it! There is one problem with Leather Milk that you should know about before you purchase. You won’t be able to buy just one bottle! Once you see what it does for your leather goods, you, and your leather, will be hooked! This is a great product, by a great company, the performs a great service…so what’s not to love?

I bought this product because I wanted to restore a red leather Coach purse that looked dull, dry, and covered in scratches. I also had accidentally spilled some oily soup on it which had stained the front slightly. I was debating between this and the Leather Honey conditioner but in the end picked this one (I’ll probably still buy Leather Honey to see how that works). All I know is that Chamberlain’s Leather Milk worked really well. It was really helpful that this came with the cotton applicator (which, incidentally turned red when I used it on the red leather, but the purse is fine). The leather looks so healthy and hydrated and the texture is quite soft and supple. The scratch marks are gone as well. Initially, the purse looked darker and I was worried that the color had changed drastically. After 10 minutes to let it dry, the color returned to normal (and the stain from the oily soup was gone!). The almond scent of the Leather Milk is incredible. This is definitely worth the money and I will be purchasing this again! (NOTE: I also used it on another purse I had and that one initially had a slightly sticky coating which went away once it completely dried.)

We have a small boutique and working studio in Friday Harbor, Washington, where we make leather handbags to order and sell our production line, Momentum Handbag. I notice a shopper’s bag before I see her face, so, if it’s a great leather bag in shabby shape, I will ask if I can use my Chamberlain’s on it to make her bag look new. Part of that is to bless her, but mostly to satisfy my obsessive curiosity to see what will happen. She invariably says yes, and we are both kind of relieved and happy when it works its magic mojo, because our lives revolve around our handbags. Chamberlain’s Leather Milk should be called ‘Wow, Check THAT Out!!’ or ‘Whoa, Did That Just Happen?!’

P.S. I actually used the #3 Water Protectant to buff up a wooden antique screen that we use as a divider in the store. Just sayin’.

My name is Michael Paratore and I semi-recently quit my job as a corporate lawyer to start a hand-made leather shoe company called mohinders (www.mohinders.com). Our first shoe, which we call the City Slipper, is made of vegetable tanned leather that is pretty stiff, dry and unwieldy after the tanning process. As a result, we needed to soften up our shoes prior to shipping them to the end customer. We tried several products (Leather Honey, Bick 4, Neatsfoot and others) and none worked like Chamberlain’s Leather Milk No. 1. It softened and conditioned the leather in our shoes perfectly! It also didn’t cause any discoloration to the leather, which was very important to us. And, to top it all off, Leather Milk smells delicious…like almond pastries! I like it so much that we’ve added a step to our finishing process that I call “Finishing Step 2: Hand-massaging with Leather Milk.

    :

Let me start by saying my grandfather was a shoemaker from the old country – which has led to me being a 3rd generation obsessive of leather, especially boots, bags, and shoes. I’ve been taking good care of all things leather since I was a teenager so I’m very picky and like to rely on the tried and true….. I’ve used saddle soap and mink oil for years on all kinds of boots, shoes and bags so when I bought a vintage coach purse that needed some help, I knew I was going to start with Saddle soap. Of course saddle soap works great but the leather was still very dull in color and somewhat dried out looking. While I usually follow up with mink oil on this type of smooth leather I decided to try the “leather milk” here. It really does have a lovely almond smell and it’s liquid- so very easy to work with- leather will soak it up immediately. What’s amazing is how quickly it brings out the natural color of the leather and leaves it looking bright and supple again- I was really amazed. I could have left the bag alone at this point, but I still wanted to recondition the leather with the heft of mink oil. After letting the bag dry for a day it was still soft and beautiful looking. The mink oil went on without issue and overall I feel like this bag looks like it’s been professionally reconditioned.

I also tried this on some Ugg boots I wear a lot in the winter. They are black nubuck so technically I don’t think this is the right product to use overall for nubuck- however these are well worn black boots and I didn’t mind them getting a little darker. The liniment went on easily and the boots soaked up all the good stuff easily. The nubuck looks brand new again. I have a new laptop bag of very fine smooth leather which will eventually need conditioning. While it might darken the leather, I’m sure this product will keep it beautiful for a lifetime.

I’m so happy with this stuff I’m going to check out their other products- like water proofing treatment. It looks like they started as a saddle bag company and developed their own treatment with good ingredients that are healthy for humans and the environment.

I have to appreciate the humor of the last note on the instructions on the back of the bottle- ” to help stimulate our ailing economy, buy and use more than you need”. You can’t use too much of this, your leather will love it, and I’d be happy to buy more from this independent company.

I had a black leather jacket that was about the “loudest” jacket I’d ever had. It would squeak and swish every time I wore it which meant I wore it less and less. I finally decided to see if I could try something to make it better and settled on Chamberlain’s after researching different products. What a difference! My jacket went from very stiff to pliable after applying Chamberlain’s as directed. I also applied Chamberlain’s #3 Waterproofer at the same time. It’s like I have a brand new jacket. I am very happy with this product.

I love the product. We have a very light-colored leather couch. With my boyfriend’s feet on the couch and what the dog tracks in, this cleaning product is a Godsend. I will be a repeat customer.

Recently I was looking for a leather conditioner that I could use on my boots, and I happened to come across Chamberlain’s leather milk. The old fashioned look lured me in so I decided to give it a try. Once I received it I gave it a try on my dirty old boots and they turned out Amazing! The conditioner gave them a look that I hadn’t found with previous leather treatments. It gave it a rustic but polished look which I prefer. My wife liked them so much she handed me her boots! A little more work than I was looking for but I am excited to try the other products in the Chamberlain Leather Milk line!

What I really like about this product is that it has all natural ingredients and I know that as I’m using this leather conditioner it is safe for me to use. I’m not worrying that if it touches my skin or as I touch the leather it’s toxic for me. It also works great. I had some paint on my leather and I used the leather milk and it softened the leather just enough for me to be able to scrape the paint off. I would recommend the product to anyone.

I have a Saddleback leather briefcase, a wallet, and an iPad cover. (I also have the luggage tags, but that is for a different review)
Everything was getting a bit scratched up and looking a bit tired. I used this stuff (the #1, they apparently have three of them. Who knew?) It totally refreshed everything and it looks like new. It was amazing what it did.
However, that being said, I used it on my wallet (Saddleback tobacco brown) and it is no longer tobacco brown; and no longer suedeish. Its still a nice looking color, the new color it changed into that is, but it is not what I ordered. Life isn’t perfect, get over it.
It worked wonders on everything else though. I can honestly say that all the leather products I have used it on look like they have had years put back into them, and the leather just looks a lot healthier.
    Its good stuff.

    :

For my birthday, my wife bought me a Saddleback wallet in the lightest possible color, and I absolutely loved it. It had tremendous character, and it aged beautifully over the first few months of its life in my pocket. Hands down, it was the best wallet I had ever owned.

Then we went to an amusement park. And we went on an inner tube ride. And we all got soaked. Twice.

I didn’t realize the mistake I’d made until we went to attempt to dry out and I pulled my wallet from my pocket. It was soaked through. The leather had absorbed a lot of water and was now very dark in color. I panicked.

But I remembered reading on the Saddleback web site that Dave Munson had had a similar experience and had simply let his piece dry, then treated it with some of this Chamberlain’s Leather Milk and voila, it was good as new. I ordered some as soon as I got home from the park.

It arrived a few days later and I waited until the weekend to use it, because I just couldn’t live without my wallet and I wasn’t sure how long the treatment would take. I had let the wallet dry for a full day before putting it back into use, and it had mostly recovered but I wanted to ensure its long life. It really is that amazing.

So I opened the bottle, took out the provided applicator pad, and rubbed a bit of the conditioner on the back side of the wallet, which soaked it right up. I rubbed in a little more until it appeared that the wallet had a good, consistent coating, then did the same on the other side. The inside came next. I stood the wallet up on its end (after treating the end-grain as well) leaving it open in a v-shape to let the Leather Milk soak in and dry. By the time I came back from doing yard work a few hours later, it was mostly done, but I gave it a few more hours to be safe. I buffed the wallet with a soft cloth and it’s as good as new, if a bit darker and a bit smoother than before (the untreated wallet had a soft, almost sueded quality that it no longer has, but that’s a pretty minor quibble and I suspect it would have lost that over time regardless).

If you’re expecting some nasty-smelling liniment, you’re in for a treat. I can’t be sure whether it’s vanilla or almond, but this stuff smells incredibly nice, and the resulting post-treatment leather, instead of smelling of vanilla (or almond) just smells nice and leathery again.

Only time will tell whether this product actually extends the life of my wallet, but I know I’ll be re-treating it every 6 months or so just to be safe. For leather that you want to keep around for a good long time, this is pretty inexpensive insurance.

I love this product! I used on a saddleback leather bag I have and it did a great job. The bag was a little darker, to be sure, but all the little scratches were tamed and it has regained a certain youthfulness, if you know what I mean. I also did a leather chair and the results were equally impressive – the nasty shine they are given in the show-room disappeared and the leather was softened and given some character!
So, all in all, a resounding succes…oh and it smells good too, kinda almond-y.

I am a self-confessed Saddleback addict. I can’t help but check their website regularly in hopes that Dave will come up with a new creation I just can’t live without. I can now add another item to my list of favorite products.

I bought the Leather Milk initally to treat a pair of Ariat boots that had gotten a bit weathered. After restoring the boots to like-new condition, I then began treating other leather products in and around the house with the same great results. Then it was time to hit the vehicles. I treat the front and back seats of my GMC pickup to not only clean and condition but also to protect the seats from my 2 daughters (5 and 9). The tan leather spruiced up so well I then tacked the black seats of my wife’s car to the same results. We then traded the car for a Buick Enclave and I could not resist putting a nice protective coating on the new seats.

In my house, if it’s leather, it has a nice dose of Leather Milk. I love this product and can not recommend it highly enough.

    :

I recommend this product for it helped my leather feel soft, “alive,” and clean. In addition, their customer service is excellent for answering my question thoroughly and checking back on my purchase to see if the product worked for me. The rest of the review will go more in detail but if you wish a short review, the first two sentences are all you need and I would highly recommend the product on Saddleback Leather products and other leather if it works. If you care to know the personal experience in details, you may read on.

It has been six months since I got my Saddleback Leather Satchel and seen from their website that this could use leather conditioner every six months using Chamberlain’s Leather Milk. This is my first time buying any genuine leather product that I care to maintain and have very little knowledge of leather maintenance. I bought one Leather Milk and the shipping was very prompt and fast. However, I never got to use it right away.

What surprised me was I received an email through Amazon from the seller of Chamberlain’s Milk asking me if the product was doing well. I asked question regarding if I should apply to all parts of the leather or only certain parts of bag. The seller replied back in full details of all the different leather types on my particular bag and how the product can be used on all surfaces. I found the customer support very proactive, helpful, and personally oriented to help me.

When I did finally begin to use the product, my first application resulted not well due to my inexperience. When I applied the second time, it was the result I was looking for. The leather became very soft, the texture of the bag became smooth, and made my bag no longer look ashy/faded. The smell of the product is very good (to me at least) and after couple of days can no longer be smelled on the bag. The value of the product for what it does is great. I think it is worth every penny.

To sum up, the customer service is excellent (thanks Jonathan), the product is excellent, and the shipping was excellent. I recommend this seller, and product to those who needs leather conditioner.

I have a pair of ALLEN EDMONDS ‘Mapleton’ Mens Shoes. These are casual natural leather shoes that I wanted to be able to wear in the winter. Anyone who owns Allen Edmonds know that these are top shelf shoes and are not cheap. I wanted a product that was going to take good care of my investment. I have only worn these shoes lightly up until I got the Camberlin products as I wanted to preserve the natural leather. The leather cleaner did a great job of cleaning up the summer dust and grime. I then I followed with Chamberlin’s Leather Care Liniment Conditioner which seemed to restore the leather’s natural oils and made the leather more soft and supple. Following the recommended wait time I applied the Chamblin Water Protectant No. 3. This stuff ‘ROCKS”

Here’s the deal. I bought The No#1 and No#2 to clean and condition a home theater couch and love seat that had not been cleaned in years. But after putting in a new theater system I thought it was time to take care of the furniture. It’s a very nice couch and love seat that withstood my sons and their friends throughout the years. You know what that means. I decided to use the cleaner first because…well why not right? While cleaning one of the cushions on the dinning room table, I spilled the whole bottle on the table and that was the end of that, so I moved right to the conditioner. The No#1 smells great and worked right into the leather bringing this couch back to life. It looks great and feels great. Look no further this stuff will take care of your leather.
I have to also tell you that the customer service is outstanding. They read an email from me talking about the spill and sent me a new bottle of the cleaner free of charge just like that. That says it all. I just ordered a bottle of No#1 and No#5 for other leather products I own and I’ll never use anything else. Thanks Chamberlains!

I had an old leather belt that I inherited from my father that was beginning to show significant wear and tear from overwear. I ordered Chamberlain’s Leather Milk in the hopes of resurrecting the leather and affording my son the opportunity to someday wear what was passed on to me. The product did exactly what was advertised and I’m extremely pleased. My whole family is now aware of how effective this product worked and want to begin ordering the same thing for all of their leather good.

The product is incredible, it’s easy to apply (no muss no fuss), soaks in quickly, and it smells good (as long as you don’t dislike the slight almond smell).

I first became familiar with this product through saddleback leather company (awesome leather gear, bags etc, you can’t beat them), as they use this Leather Milk on all of their products.

Since there products always looked so great when I got them, I figured they must have a pretty good Idea about the best way to condition and care for their leather.

They were right; I’ve used many Leather conditioning products over the years, but after using the Chamberlain’s Leather Milk for the past couple of years I don’t plan on using anything else.

Chamberlain’s and Saddleback Leather will have my Business for a very long time to come

I was afraid at first to put this on my new leather tote bag. It is a beautiful turquoise. I tried it on a small section to see what would happen. Some of the color rubbed off but I was glad to see after it dried that it did not darken the color.

I received Chamberlain’s Leather Milk and immediately went to work on my tobacco brown Saddleback Leather Classic Briefcase. Yes, I took Saddleback’s recommendation and spent the $18 on this. Not going to lie: I thought $18 was a little steep for a product like this. I grew up with an old-school dad, who swore by Neatsfoot oil on leather. Well, that was when Neatsfoot was a more natural product. I believe that it is now a synthetic product, so I didn’t want to put that on my new bag.

Chamberlain’s did two things for me. (1) The Milk really conditioned the leather; it’s still very supple and will become more so as it continues to break-in. (2) The Milk darkened the leather to a richer brown. It is absolutely beautiful. This is the color that I pictured in my head when I bought the bag.

In my opinion, you can ignore the 1- and 2-star reviews. There are only three each, and they are all over the map. Even some of the 3-star reviews are weird. Read the description so you know what you’re getting. Go to YouTube and watch Chamberlain’s video. This is a conditioner that also happens to clean a little. If you want a leather cleaner, look at their other products. A little DOES go a long way. I completed my briefcase with all straps and a pair of leather Danner field boots, and there is still 7/8 of the bottle left.

For what it does and how much you use – I think the ROI is really good.

I have an old leather bomber jacket that I had pretty much given up on. It was dry, cracked, stiff, and just looked bad.

That old jacket drank the first coat of Leather Milk like it was dying of thirst, but it already looked much better and had gotten more supple, so I let the Leather Milk soak in overnight, and gave the jacket another coat the next day. The second coat did the trick. My jacket looks better than it did when it was new, and it’s soft and supple. I’ve gone back to wearing it on a daily basis.

I was so impressed I’ve gone on to use the Leather Milk on a leather backpack, satchel, briefcase, one of my belts, a guitar strap, a rifle sling, and even a hat band. Finished the first bottle somewhere along the way and ordered a second.

It’s not cheap, but it’s worth every penny. Highly recommended.

I recently purchased a Stressless recliner chair and ottoman in a top grain leather. Color is very light, almost an ivory color. It was a big chuck of change so I wanted to make sure I was using the right product. My research took me to Chamberlain’s Leather Milk. I could not be happier. Not only did it condition, but cleaned as well. A little goes a very long way. I am happy to recommend this product for anyone who is wanting to condition and clean their valuable leather.

I use this leather milk on my lamb skin jacket(orange with aged finish). It’ very light that the leather will turn back to original color after applied few hours. I also use on my leather belt and gives me very good result compare to normal leather lotion.

I had a wonderful opportunity to try Chamberlain’s Leather Milk Leather Care Liniment No. 1. The blessing in this was that when I heard back from the company, they had checked out my blogs and discovered that I was a Christian and they are a Godly business. Bonus for the both of us!

I decided that I would try one of our cream-colored leather chairs first. While I thought that the armrests were dirty, I couldn’t really see a difference on the leather, but the terry applicator showed a different story. It was filthy. I can’t believe I forget to take a picture of the applicator after I was done cleaning. Gross!
I worked on the ottoman next. That was visibly just nasty.

It’s quite obvious that the Chamberlain’s Leather Milk Leather Care Liniment Conditioner No. 1 did a great job at cleaning the ottoman. It was easy to use, but you’ll need to use some elbow grease to get tough soil. I can’t speak for how long the 8 oz bottle will last, but I do know that if you use the product sparingly, you will get many uses out of it. It’s like I hardly used any on the two pieces I cleaned. I still need to clean another chair and the loveseat. It needs a very short drying time before you use the product you cleaned.
